| Kim and I met in 1989 immediately knew we'd found our soulmate. We lived together for 3 years and decided to get married on May 1, 1992; our instincts were correct, we've been together for 27 years and have never had an argument. | When I was 21 years old in 1967 I was hired as an entry level operator at American Cyanamid acrylic fibers plant in Pace, Florida (later to become Cytec Industries, then Sterling Fibers) and worked there for 33 years. I was promoted up through the ranks by seniority and in 1990 I was promoted to department manager for the Finished Product Departments which included the final stage of production, warehousing and shipping. I held this job for 10 years until I retired in 2000. |

| Here I am as a lead operator in Area 1 in the 1980's. I spent most of my time problem solving, designing, building and installing new equipment, and modifying old equipment. They gave me the run of the place, it was really hard work but actually rewarding most of the time. Whatever you do you might as well try to do well. |

| Area 1 at Sterling Fibers, 1980's. I spent 14 years as an operator in this acrylic fiber extrusion area. It was a miserable job, rotating shifts, very difficult working conditions, with many chemical and physical hazards, but it was my stepping stone up into leadership roles. |

| Mike just received his Gilchrist Artist Model 3 mandolin, 1998. It was a spectacular instrument. Many people considered it the greatest mandolin they've ever heard. It was given the nickname "The Golden Gilchrist" because of its amazing tone depth. It had birdseye maple back and side and an Adirondack spruce top.. |
