We came to the White Mountains of Arizona June through August 2008 and it was a spectacular experience; it's a beautiful mountain range, very comfortable temps in June and July, few biting bugs, and we photo'd over 117 species of butterflies, 35 of which were new to us! This truly is one of the nation's great butterfly areas so if you plan an extended stay here we recommend mid-May to mid-September but any time period within this will be very productive.
