We visited the San Pedro House and walked the trail on May 5th 2007 and discovered a colony of freshly hatched Painted Crescents (Phyciodes picta) on the southeast end of the Green Kingfisher Pond.

As you come to the south end of the Green Kingfisher Pond, look for the trail marker (right photo.)  The colony of Painted Crescents was in the grass behind this marker.  Below are some of the shots we took of them.
