Lorraine Hudson-Kingry 1932-2016 Obituary

Lorraine Hudson Kingry, devoted wife and mother, 83, of Bagdad, went to be with her Savior, Thursday, June 16, 2016.

Lorraine was a native and lifelong resident of Santa Rosa County and the daughter of the late Braxton and Maudie Rogers Hudson. She followed her husband, Bill Kingry, in his USAF career, settling back home after his retirement. She loved to sew, crochet and was a fantastic cook. She enjoyed music and had a beautiful voice. She was a member of the Fisher Brown Fischer Sunday School class at First Baptist Church of Milton.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Hudson; and two sisters, Linda Bodie and Lucille Stangeland. Lorraine is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bill Kingry of Bagdad; four daughters, Sharon (Henry) Fillingim of Bagdad, Charlene Kingry of Pensacola, Brenda (Glen) Godwin of Bagdad, Annette (Lynn) Randall of Farmington, New Mexico; one son, Robert (Teri) Kingry of Navarre; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lois (Bryant) Lay of Milton and Lillian Pleasant of Milton; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Milton, with Dr. Gary Nichols, officiating. Burial will follow services in Bagdad Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her family. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Fisher-Brown-Fischer Sunday School class. Visitation will be held 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., prior to the services. Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, has been entrusted with arrangements. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Food Pantry at First Baptist Church of Milton.
