We had the opportunity to attend a workshop and concert dedicated to the music and life of Bill Monroe put on by Jim Richter of Richter Digital Arts, taught and performed by some of the world's greatest acoustic musicians each of whom had a connection to Bill Monroe.  Those musicians are David Grier (guitar), Mike Compton (mandolin) and Butch Robins (banjo.)  It was a very rewarding learning and enjoyment experience.

David Grier is one of the world's greatest acoustic guitarists, his father Lamar Grier was a Bluegrass Boy

Mike Compton the world's greatest Monroe style mandolinist was friends with Bill Monroe for several years before Bill's death

Butch Robins ex Bluegrass Boy and author of the book:
What I Know 'Bout What I Know: The Musical Life of an Itinerant Banjo Player
